Spring 2012 Workshop: Making Sure that Persons with Developmental Disabilities get the Best Medical Care

The Center, the Office of Protection and Advocacy and The Kennedy Center, Dr. Gerard Kerins (Section Chief of Geriatric Medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, CT); Anne Broadhurst and Diana Lincoln from the Office of Protection and Advocacy; and Liza Paulsen from the Kennedy Center presented a workshop on May 1, 2012 entitled Making Sure that Persons with Developmental Disabilities get the Best Medical Care, which focused on practical suggestions to improve the medical care for persons with disabilities at the doctor’s office, in the emergency room, in the hospital and in the nursing home settings.
