Birth To Three CT Early Intervention Supervisors Institute

About

Through the Birth to Three CT Early Intervention Supervisors Institute, the A.J. Pappanikou Center will provide eight days of training for Birth to Three program supervisors. The goal of the workshops is to provide participants with an opportunity for development of strategies which will enhance their ability to supervise staff's portfolio work samples and observations leading to a credential and to assist in continuous improvement of IFSPs and services to families.

The topics of the Institute include:

  • New visions for early intervention.
  • Writing quality IFSPs.
  • Natural learning opportunities.
  • Transdisciplinary service delivery.
  • Effective teaming in programs.
  • Observation.

The outcomes of the Institute are to increase the knowledge and skills of supervisors to:

  • Develop a vision for leading a quality early intervention program.
  • Assist staff in using the IFSP process and natural learning opportunities to enhance children's development and families' capacities.
  • Facilitate the transdisciplinary team process for service delivery.
  • Utilize observation techniques as a method of providing support and technical assistance to staff.

This Institute is a six-month collaboration between the Birth to Three System and the A.J. Pappanikou Center.
